TJ Flood , Executive Vice President & President, Canadian Tire Retail

TJ Flood is the Executive Vice President & President of Canadian Tire Retail, an iconic retailer since 1922 with more than 500 stores across Canada. In this role, TJ oversees all aspects of Canadian Tire’s business across five divisions – Driving, Living, Fixing, Playing and Seasonal & Gardening, as well as its global operations, eCommerce initiatives and its valued relationship with Canadian Tire’s Associate Dealers.


Previously, TJ served as President of SportChek, responsible for the overall strategic direction and growth of the Company’s more than 400 retail locations across Canada, including SportChek, Sports Experts, Atmosphere and Hockey Experts.


TJ joined Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC) in December 2005 and has held a series of progressively senior roles within the organization, including Vice-President of Merchandising, where he ran the successful Living business, and Senior Vice-President of Marketing at Canadian Tire where he led an award-winning marketing team and managed a broad portfolio that included strategic marketing functions, digital and the Canadian Tire flyer. Under his leadership, Canadian Tire reinvigorated its brand with the introduction of "Canada's Store" and the "We All Play for Canada" marketing campaigns, which contributed to him being named Strategy Magazine’s Marketer of the Year in 2014. In addition, TJ oversaw CTC’s Owned Brands portfolio as Senior Vice-President, Consumer Brands Division where he was responsible for building curated, high-quality assortments, through acquisitions and in-house development, across CTC’s group of companies.


Prior to joining Canadian Tire, TJ held progressively senior positions at Cadbury Adams USA where he acquired significant packaged goods experience.


TJ holds an Honours degree in business and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business. In 2023, TJ was named one of the Globe and Mail’s Report on Business Best Executives for his integral role in Canadian Tire’s current success and future growth through the implementation of the Better Connected strategy.
