SportChek Mother’s Day Run, Walk and Ride is back in a virtual format

Even during a pandemic, SportChek will be carrying on a tradition that has been taking place for nearly 50 years – but with a twist! The 2021 SportChek Mother’s Day Run, Walk and Ride is going virtual to support Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities and the Calgary Health Foundation NICU.

The SportChek Mother’s Day Run, Walk and Ride has been one of Calgary’s largest family fundraising events, and by going virtual the race can include everyone across Canada. From May 7 to 9, participants from all over Canada will run, walk, and ride – in their neighbourhoods, on trails, and at home on exercise machines – all for a good cause.

Participants will be able to login to a special event platform, and choose a route, pace and distance (5 km or 10 km) to complete by the end of the weekend. The platform will let racers track their performance with an app, appear on the event’s virtual leaderboard, and provide them with a personalized finisher’s certificate that can be printed at home.

To keep the engagement and excitement high, participants can also upload their pictures, videos and posts from their individual runs, walks and rides to social media using the #FindWhatMovesYou hashtag. This will also qualify them for a chance to win some great prizes from SportChek.

All Canadians are welcome to register as individuals or as a team. Participants will also receive a swag bag and access to an exclusive SportChek VIP pricing event. +* To learn more, and to register for the event, visit The SportChek Mother’s Day Run, Walk and Ride website.

+ Race day packages are limited and only available while supplies last.

* Offer valid from May 6-10. In-store only. $4,000 spend limit. Select brands & styles.
