Overview

Our environmental sustainability efforts are centered around responsibly stewarding our natural environment. We are committed to reducing both the waste and greenhouse gas emissions from our business and working with our vendors and customers to reduce their impact as well.

Climate Change

We are committed to reducing our climate impact by decarbonizing our operations and building the climate resiliency of our enterprise.

The effects of climate change continue to pose a significant threat to the planet. We recognize that rising average global temperatures and the increasing frequency of extreme weather-related events, such as flooding and wildfires, have impacts on the stores we operate, the supply chains we rely upon and our communities nationwide. At CTC, we understand the need to manage how our business contributes to, and is impacted by, the effects of climate change. This includes reducing GHG emissions from our business, working to mitigate the impacts that climate change may have on our operations, and harnessing the opportunities that will arise from the shift to a low-carbon economy.

Our Climate Change focus areas are:

  • Decarbonizing our business
  • Adapting to a changing climate

For more information on CTC’s GHG footprint, please read the Climate Data Index in our most recent ESG Report. CTC is also a signatory to the Corporate Knights Action Declaration on Climate Policy Engagement. To learn more about this initiative and our actions, please click here.
