Canadian Tire Alliston makes a beautiful difference with Blooms for a Cause hospital fundraiser

July 11, 2024

In Alliston, ON, the local hospital foundation is a big step closer to achieving its fundraising goal, and porches adorned with flower baskets have something to do with it. Blooms for a Cause, a campaign run by Canadian Tire Alliston, gave the community a chance to give back through a popular springtime purchase.

Between May 11 and June 15, every hanging basket purchased at Canadian Tire Alliston would result in a $2 donation to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF). Associate Dealer Brad O’Neill knew what he was doing when he launched the Blooms for a Cause initiative; his store ultimately raised $5,000 for the SMHF in just over a month.

“We are incredibly thankful to Canadian Tire and everyone who participated in the Blooms for a Cause fundraiser,” Darlene Mcleod, interim CEO of SMHF, told BradfordToday. “Their generosity will have a lasting impact on our community’s health and well-being. Every dollar raised helps us continue to provide quality healthcare services right here at home.”

SMHF is fundraising to purchase essential equipment, upgrade technology, and complete critical renovations – including a plan to triple the size of the emergency department – all of which are necessary to service the community’s growing population. Canadian Tire Alliston has proudly supported the cause for many years.
